Materials - Gold
Gold in its pure state is generally considered to be too soft for wearable jewellery and so is alloyed with other metals to create hardness and therefore durability. Depending on which metal the pure gold is alloyed with determines its colour. I look to use these different colours of gold (yellow, white, red and green) as part of the design in my jewellery. The soft colours and textures of the metal along with the occasional precious stone combine well together to form the rich yet understated pieces I enjoy creating.
I design and make a full range of 18 carat gold jewellery and rings for all occasions, especially wedding ring, engagement rings, and eternity rings. They come plain or multi-coloured, with or without precious stones; polished or patterned the choice is yours. Each ring or piece of jewellery is individually made to your specific requirements. Stones are also available on approval for selection.
In the U.K. the hallmarking standard for 18ct Gold is 75%.
Depending upon the suitability of design, we can sometimes melt and use the customers unwanted gold in one of our designs. If you wish to discuss this option you are welcome to visit our studio/workshop near York.
